Grant Proposal Partnership
A MARC Venture  in 2006

In response to the invitation by Mall Area Religious Council (MARC) and the Parliament of World Religions for partners in networking between world religions faiths in the Minnesota Metropolitan community, a Grant has been received from Oak Grove Presbyterian Church of Bloomington and they have become co-sponsors of the event.  John Chell, Executive Director of MARC, has written the following letter to Pastor Mark Bayert.

Dear Mark:

The Mall Area Religious Council (MARC) thanks you and the Oak Grove Session for the Grant Proposal partnership you have taken with us in the Interfaith Project of networking with other world religion faiths in our diverse community.

We are especially thrilled to have received from you this past week a check in the amount of $1,400.00 in response to the Grant Proposal sent in April to the Presbytery. We have just deposited your check dated August 3, 2006 in the Interfaith Project account

Additional funding for the Interfaith Project is being sought, and your seed money has caught the attention of a large local Bank Foundation, which is a likely donor. They have requested a meeting on August 16. Interest in funding this Interfaith Project is growing.

MARC is currently in conversations with the Minnesota Council of Churches. They believe this Interfaith Project can have an enormously positive influence on the diverse population in the communities of the entire Metropolitan area and the State of Minnesota.

A flame of Hope has been lit and this torch of Mission by our common efforts - Oak Grove, MARC, and the Parliament of World Religions - will be far reaching in the months and years ahead.

We will keep you informed and ask for your prayers in our continuing partnership.

Thank you for your trust and vision.

John Chell, Executive Director
Mall Area Religious Council (MARC)
